The Sponsored Products Demand Utilization team is dedicated to surfacing engaging ads when customers search for products on Amazon. We focus on understanding customer intent to identify relevant ads, helping customers discover products that may be hard to find in search results. Our work involves managing one of the largest product catalogs globally, ensuring high relevance and stringent latency requirements. We are seeking a Machine Learning Engineer II who will shape the future of ad serving at Amazon Search, driving technology choices and continuous innovation. In this role, you will: Design and code scalable services that handle billions of requests while maintaining low latency performance. Collaborate with applied scientists to refine machine learning models and enhance team productivity. Mentor junior engineers, guiding them in developing impactful products and services for our customers and sellers. This role offers exposure to cutting-edge innovations in product search, information retrieval, natural language processing (NLP), LLM training, deep learning, and image processing. Basic Qualifications: 3+ years of professional software development experience. 2+ years designing or architecting systems with a focus on scalability and reliability. Experience programming in at least one software language. Proven track record of building complex software systems delivered successfully to customers. Preferred Qualifications: 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, and testing. Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field. Experience in machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, or natural language processing.
