We're seeking an experienced Structural Section Head to lead our structural engineering department, drive business development, and manage high-performing teams. This is a senior leadership role focused on building client relationships, ensuring project excellence, and guiding our section's financial and strategic success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the structural engineering section at the local level, aligning with office managers and practice leaders on strategic growth plans.
- Build and expand market presence through marketing, networking, and business development with local, county, and state clients.
- Manage departmental budgets, allocate resources effectively, and ensure profitability.
- Oversee proposal development and contribute technical expertise to project managers and engineers.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop staff, conducting performance reviews and setting clear goals.
- Provide technical leadership on horizontal structural projects, including bridges.
- Maintain high standards for project quality, schedules, and client satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (accredited program).
- Professional Engineer (PE) License.
- 10+ years of experience in horizontal structural engineering (bridge experience strongly preferred).
- Proven track record in project management and business development.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Established relationships with local, county, and state agencies.
- Supervisory or section management experience.
