Lead Software Engineer, DevOps Do you love building and pioneering in the technology space? The Payments Intelligence Team (PINT) is an Enterprise Platform for Purchase Transaction Enhancement, Prediction, and Control. Our mission is to empower our customers with an actionable understanding of their spend so that we enrich their financial lives and grow deeper spending relationships through real-time intelligent and resilient platform-based enterprise services. The person in this role would be helping with supporting this platform by being well managed, building tools, improving processes, adopting enterprise standards, bringing in new solutions to improve feature shipment, ensure production environments are stable, and assisting with on-call rotation.

What You’ll Do: Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with deep experience in machine learning, distributed microservices, and full stack systems to create solutions that help meet regulatory needs for the company

Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, and mentoring other members of the engineering community

Collaborate with digital product managers, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences to help millions of Americans achieve financial empowerment

Utilize programming languages like Java, Python, SQL and Go, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, CM tools like Terraform, and a variety of AWS tools and services

Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree

At least 4 years of experience in DevOps Engineering (Internship experience does not apply)

At least 3 years of experience in Cloud Native technologies (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform)

At least 4 years of Unix or Linux system administration experience

Preferred Qualifications: 7+ years of DevOps Engineering experience

4+ years of experience with coding and scripting (Python, SQL, Java, JavaScript, Golang, Bash, Perl)

4+ years of experience with technologies Apache Mesos, Marathon, or Apache Spark

4+ years of experience using build and deployment tools (Jenkins, Docker)

2+ years of experience with distributed database systems (Cassandra, ElasticSearch)

2+ years of experience with deploying clustered web services

2+ years of experience working within Agile Development Practices

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked. San Francisco, CA: $211,000 - $240,800 for Manager, Lead Software Engineer; $211,000 - $240,800 for Lead Software Engineer Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
