We are seeking an experienced and innovative leader for a pivotal role in our team. As a Senior Software Development Engineer in this team, you will guide a group of motivated software developers eager to tackle complex challenges with creative solutions. Your responsibilities will span from building to validating and operating software solutions across various technology domains, employing languages such as Java, C/C++, and Python, while utilizing both proprietary and open-source technologies along with Amazon services.
This role involves significant collaboration with other development teams, including architecture, hardware, and software services. Your leadership will be instrumental in establishing vision and driving the execution of new products and services.
What you will do:
Lead a team focused on building large-scale monitoring and real-time telemetry systems for operating an extensive storage platform.
Design and construct automation, tooling, and data analytics solutions.
Work closely with AWS software teams to customize and implement storage solutions tailored to the AWS environment.

Oversee the software development process, leading design and code reviews to ensure quality standards.

About the team
The Nitro SSD team is crucial to enhancing customer experience by improving storage availability, reducing SSD-related operations, and providing a uniform customer experience.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of professional software development experience.
5+ years of experience with at least one programming language.
5+ years of leadership experience in design or architecture of systems.
Demonstrated experience in mentoring or leading engineering teams.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
7+ years of experience in the full software development lifecycle.
3+ years of experience with AWS services, particularly CloudWatch and Kinesis.
3+ years experience in building and operating distributed systems.
Experience in telemetry, observability, and monitoring for cloud services.

The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market, with additional compensation potential through equity and sign-on payments.
