Join our dynamic team as a Lead Principal Software Engineer and take charge of the development and strategic direction for our innovative Digital Medicine Platform's service layer. We are seeking a highly skilled technical leader who thrives on guiding teams through complex projects. As a vital member of the team, you will: Guide engineers in designing robust systems and managing technical debt. Collaborate closely with product teams to evolve platform capabilities and launch new features. Contribute to product development with a focus on architectural best practices, including creating reusable components, ensuring high performance, and exploring new technologies. Your team will primarily focus on building core platform services used by both patient- and provider-facing applications across mobile and web. You will work within a cross-functional team to ensure seamless integration of RESTful APIs with client applications, analytics platforms, and third-party vendors. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement scalable, serverless microservices. Lead architecture efforts, create design documents and engineering diagrams. Direct a team of backend developers to deliver products for R&D and commercial use. Estimate engineering efforts, plan implementation, and manage deployment initiatives. Enhance API performance and security continually. Collaborate with team members to develop and test major features. Communicate effectively to resolve technical issues and provide solutions. Participate as a key player in a highly productive Agile scrum team. Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications. Continuously evaluate and adopt new technologies to improve development efficiency. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered. 10+ years of professional software development experience. 5+ years leading engineering teams focused on Cloud-native applications. 5+ years of backend experience with NodeJS, JSON, REST, Microservices, DynamoDB, and NoSQL. Advanced knowledge of AWS Lambda or similar cloud functions technologies is essential. Expertise in building scalable, high-performance cloud services. Experience with Python or NodeJS for backend development. Proficient in managing complex integration solutions, including APIs. Knowledge of large-scale consumer-facing microservices solutions is highly beneficial. Familiarity with AWS services such as API Gateway, EC2, ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, SQS, SNS, and Cognito. Experience in automating AWS services using Terraform or similar frameworks within a CI/CD pipeline. AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or higher is preferred. Bonus Qualifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional. Experience with Gitlab CI/CD focused on AWS serverless deployments. Experience with PHI/PII and medical devices.
