Position Compensation Range: $128,000.00 - $216,000.00 Pay Rate Type: Salary Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates. The Lead Network Engineer transforms our data systems and architecture to support greater variety, volume, and velocity of data and data sources. You will extract data from various sources, connect them, and prepare them for use in software systems and for developing models and algorithms. You will report to the Senior Manager, Technology Services. This is a flexible office/home role, requiring a minimum of 10 days per month working from Madison, WI 53783 or Boston, MA 02110. Primary Accountabilities: Network Design and Implementation: Lead the design, planning, and implementation of network solutions to meet organizational needs, evaluating current systems and recommending improvements. Network Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Oversee network system maintenance and ensure optimal performance by diagnosing and resolving issues promptly to minimize downtime. Security Management: Implement and manage network security measures to protect data and systems from unauthorized access or attacks. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, changes, and performance metrics; provide regular reports to management. Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for procurement and maintenance of network equipment and services. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with latest network technologies and trends to improve network infrastructure and processes. Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements: Knowledge and understanding of network topologies, protocols, and technologies such as LAN, WAN, VPN. Ability to design, deploy, and manage Cisco SD-WAN solutions across multiple sites. Ability to design, deploy, and manage Cisco Meraki and WiFi networks. Ability to design, implement, and manage Cisco ACI environments. Experience configuring and managing routers, including routing protocols, ACLs, and network interfaces. Experience managing Infoblox DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management (DDI) solutions. Proficiency in using Python for automating network tasks and scripting for configuration management. Expertise in using Ansible and Terraform for automation and deployment across network environments. Familiarity with cloud networking services such as AWS VPC, Azure Virtual Network, and Google Cloud VPC. Ability to use GitLab features for collaborative development, CI/CD pipelines, issue tracking, and project management. Understanding of application development methodologies (e.g., Agile) and product-based teams. #LI-Hybrid Additional Information: Offer contingent on background checks.
