Lead Network Engineer Top Priorities: Cisco, Juniper, and Palo Alto Lead Network Engineer role that will be supporting many classified infrastructures as well as standalone environments. This role will require knowledge of implementing and maintaining NIST 800-53 Security Controls / RMF compliance in each environment along with additional security lockdowns if required and ensure the accreditation is enforced and in compliance in all environments. Provide guidance for hardware/software purchases when requested. Work with project leads to ensure their environment compliant and meeting the requirements of the end-users. The successful candidate will, in addition to providing top level technical support and vision, provide task leadership for a small team that supports both the infrastructures and manages end user issues.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in one of the following disciplines, Electrical, Computer or Systems Engineering.
Ability to obtain and maintain DoD 8570 IAT I-compliant certification
5-10 years of progressive experience and responsibility in user-facing environments
Windows domain design and administration
Citrix VDI design and administration
Microsoft Exchange administration
Basic network device management (cisco)
Implementation and management of infrastructure/service monitoring and alerting
Familiarity with implementing and maintaining NIST 800-53 Security Controls / RMF compliance
Strong interpersonal, leadership and presentation skills
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with hardware/software
Experience with creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for all environments.
Manages the day-to-day operations of systems by monitoring system performance, configuration management, maintenance and repair for all areas.
Develop new strategies for classified environments
Install, configure and test software packages
Familiarity with IP telephony and video conferencing
SharePoint administration
Software license management
Virtualization Experience
Linux experience
Required Skills:
Active a DoD TS/SCI with full scope polygraph is required.
Familiarity with managing a Windows supporting services environment, including WSUS, Network Policy Server, Certificate Services
Familiarity with scripting and automation tools, including batch scripts, PowerShell, automation with PDQ Inventory/Deploy, Ansible, Chef, or other similar tools
Experience with STIGs and system hardening through Group Policy and/or automation
Experience with VMware vCenter/vSphere, and VDI implementations using VMware Horizon
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Demonstrated ability to develop effective technical and support documentation to include design & test plans, implementation plans, and automation plans using standard templates (where existing) or proposing & creating new templates where needed.
Ability to review operational metrics and make analytic decisions/recommendations about operational infrastructure performance
Deploy all hardware/software configurations following established standards in an automatable and auditable method.
