Title: Lead Manufacturing Engineer

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer for a manufacturing facility located in Amarillo, TX. This position offers relocation assistance. This role will be critical in driving improvements in machine and operator efficiencies, focusing on reducing unplanned downtime. Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and optimize machining processes to improve efficiency and quality.
Create and modify CNC programs using relevant software (e.g., Mastercam, Siemens, Fanuc, or similar).
Design and select cutting tools, fixtures, and work-holding solutions to enhance production.
Troubleshoot machining issues, including tooling wear, machine performance, and program inefficiencies.
Collaborate with production, quality, and design teams to ensure manufacturability of components and support new product introductions (NPI).
Analyze cycle times, tool life, and machining parameters to drive cost and time efficiencies.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Plan, organize, and lead capital improvement projects, including equipment replacements and upgrades, while maintaining positive relationships with external vendors.
Manage documentation of legacy and new manufacturing processes, including work instructions and standard operating procedures.
Support production by enhancing site capabilities, safety, quality, and utilization, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new equipment.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with external vendors related to capital improvement projects.
Troubleshoot and lead problem-solving activities to identify root causes and propose solutions to leadership teams.
Leverage change management and project management skills to plan, organize, and lead capital improvement projects.
Drive improvements in machining and material flow to support production.
Support standardized work definition and workplace design with consideration for Lean and safety requirements.
Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
Minimum of four (4) years of Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in machining applications, including CNC programming, tooling, methods development, and fixtures.
Technical knowledge in statistical controls.
Experience with finish applications (e.g., plating, painting, and assembly).
Experience with SAP.
Bilingual in Spanish.
Position Criteria: Understanding of PLC and CNC programming, Lean tools, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop solutions based on limited information and experience.
Ability to interpret and clearly communicate complex information, often requiring persuasive communication.
