Job Description We are looking for a Lead Front Desk Clerk to provide administrative supervision and services to the front desk personnel as well as provide services to patients and assist providers a clinical staff by greeting, checking-in patients, ensuring patient information is accurate, collecting co-payments and fees, schedule appointments for patients, route calls and or message to the appropriate medical staff member. The following are some of the essential functions you would be responsible for: Ensure that front desk clerks perform duties completely and accurately, communicating any administrative and clerical issues to supervisor. Conduct on-going training of the front desk to ensure accuracy and optimal customer service. Identifies training issues and coordinates training literature and program. Conduct random audits of daily work and/or intake to assure accuracy of data. Obtain and maintain understanding of insurances, payor codes, ICD-9 and CPT codes, and communicate any changes to front desk staff. Greet patients in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner. Assist patients by communicating with insurance carriers about cost of services and patient needs. Answer questions regarding patient account status. Refer patient to the Patient Accounts department when questions involve patient account activity such as collection, slow pay, fee-for-service errors, claim processing or refunds to patient. Collect co-pays, payments, collection payments, and inform new patients of SLFHC's current payment policy. Handle patient complaints professionally and courteously, forwarding and/or communicating any unresolved issues to supervisor. Verify patient information (insurance, address, and telephone number), complete advance directive, Medicare questionnaires, and financial policy and make necessary changes in the practice management system. Review forms for completeness and accuracy of information Verify patient identity by requesting government issued photo I.D. or two forms of non-photo identification of patient or responsible party (parent, stepparent, or guardian) and scan into the practice management system. Refer patient to Outreach Department if eligibility for sliding fee scale is identified or if a change in payor source code is identified. Answer questions regarding patient accounts, services provided by the clinic, and other pertinent questions. Assure compliance with all HIPAA requirements. Maintain patient confidence and protect clinic operations by keeping information confidential, following release of information protocol. Run no show reports and appointment schedule reports and submit to Housecalls to contact the patient about their scheduled appointment. Run state AHCCCS Medifax for all AHCCCS plans and Medicare to check for other primary coverage and communicate any changes to front desk staff. Responsible for combining, balancing, and submitting reconciliation summary form and Centricity deposit slip for dental and CG front desk. During staff shortages, assumes the role of front desk clerk and provide coverage for Outreach and Enrollment to ensure quality and expedient customer service. Ensure that staff performance reviews are completed by the due date. Qualifications
Education and Experience 2 Years supervisory experience High school diploma or equivalency One year as a cashier/receptionist in a medical facility or public contact position Bilingual preferred and may be required based on patient needs Compensation Salary: $16.00 - $18.50 ***Compensation is dependent on relevant years and months experience*** What You'll Love About Us!
