This role sits within DTCC’s Enterprise Application Support (EAS) team and is instrumental in driving the stability, resilience, and operational readiness of critical business applications. As part of a centralized function under Enterprise Infrastructure, the Lead Application Support Engineer will play a key role in managing production support, incident response, disaster recovery, and compliance activities. The successful candidate will lead efforts to ensure production readiness for application and infrastructure deployments, manage structured service requests through ServiceNow, and maintain adherence to internal controls and audit standards—ensuring DTCC’s systems remain secure, compliant, and highly available.
Primary Responsibilities: Verify analysis performed by team members and implement changes required to prevent reoccurrence of incidents Resolve Critical application alerts in a timely fashion including production defects, providing business impact and analysis to teams, handling minor enhancements as needed Review and update knowledge articles and runbooks with application development teams to confirm information is up to date Collaborate with internal teams to provide answers to application issues and escalate to as needed Validate and submit responses to requests for information from ongoing audits Review and Execute Disaster Recovery scripts during planned and unplanned outages, providing BCM evidence as needed Identify and implement automation opportunities to reduce manual effort associated with application monitoring Partner with development teams to provide input into the design and development stages of applications Execute the pre-production/production application code deployment plans and support end to end vendor application upgrade process (e.g. SNOW, SF, etc.) Align risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately Qualifications: Minimum of 6 years of related experience. Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience. Talent needed for success Experience in supporting both mainframe and distributed systems like Unix, Linux, Windows, Oracle, SQL/PLSQL Hands on experience on Mainframe troubleshooting and support skills (COBOL, JCL, DB2, DB2 Stored Procedures, CICS, SPUFI, File aid) Familiarity with Middleware (Unix, Linux, Solace, Tomcat, Liberty Server, WebSphere, WebLogic, JBoss) Familiarity with Mainframe scheduling concepts (Job abends, Predecessor/Successor) and Scheduling Tools (CA AutoSys, CA-Scheduler, Control-M) Familiarity working with relational databases (DB2, Oracle) Must be a quick learner. Preferred: Monitoring and Data Tools experience (Splunk, Dynatrace, Selenium, Py3270, Thousand Eyes, Grafana, HiPam, IBM Zolda) Cloud Technologies experience (AWS services (S3, EC2, Lambda, SQS, IAM roles), Snowflake, Service Now, Azure, OpenShift, RDS Aurora, Postgress) Familiarity working with Messaging Queue Systems (IBM MQ, Oracle AQ, ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka) Nice to have: Familiarity with the securities industry Experience Scripting languages (Bash, Python, Ruby, Shell, Perl, JavaScript) Experience with ETL tools (Informatica Datahub/IDQ, Talend) The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations. Actual salary is determined based on the role, location, individual experience, skills, and other considerations.
