We operate in small, productive agile teams and utilize industry-leading tools for collaboration. Responsibilities: Develop Android client code solutions that align with product strategy and adhere to engineering best practices, design guidelines, and principles. Partner with Software Engineers, UX/UI, Quality Engineers, Product Owners/Analysts to deliver high-performing, engaging, purposeful, and simple customer experiences. Participate actively in all team agile ceremonies, ensuring commitments are met on time and with high quality. Advocate for the mobile platform within internal and external developer communities. Continuously learn about mobile development technologies such as Kotlin, Swift, and third-party libraries. Contribute to group discussions and incorporate feedback from the broader team. Mentor junior to mid-level team members. Engage with developers across disciplines (Android, iOS, APIs, Web, etc.). Lead delivery of major components and platform needs with senior engineers and architects. Share best practices and improve processes within and across teams. Identify technical obstacles early and collaborate on creative solutions. Review pull requests to ensure adherence to Kotlin and other idioms. Provide SME-level leadership and grow expertise. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience At least 3 years of experience building Android applications At least 3 years of experience with Kotlin Qualifications: Master's Degree 5+ years of experience building Android applications 4+ years of experience with Kotlin 4+ years of experience with open source frameworks 2+ years of experience with Agile practices Note: Capital One will not sponsor new employment authorization applications at this time. The salary range varies by location, e.g., McLean, VA: $193,400 - $220,700; New York, NY: $211,000 - $240,800. Salaries are reflective of the location and will be specified in the offer letter.
