Job Summary: Snowflake is a company focused on building a self-service Observability platform that serves telemetry data to both customers and internal teams. The role of Software Engineer involves designing and maintaining observability solutions, enhancing monitoring tools, and collaborating with various teams to improve operational visibility. Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and maintain scalable observability solutions for logging, metrics, and distributed tracing. • Build tools and automation to enhance system monitoring, alerting, and root cause analysis. • Improve and optimize data ingestion, storage, and query efficiency for observability data at scale. • Collaborate with teams across Snowflake to understand observability needs and implement solutions that improve operational visibility. • Contribute to open-source and industry best practices in observability and distributed systems monitoring. • Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of observability systems by participating in on-call rotations and incident management. Qualifications: Required: • 2+ years industry experience designing, building and supporting large scale systems in production. • Proficiency in programming languages such as Go, Java or C++ • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a production environment. • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment. • BS / MS in Computer Science, Engineering or related fields Preferred: • Experience developing or using observability infrastructure such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus etc is a plus.
