We are seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will have experience in electronic components, functions, technologies, and assembly and be "hands-on" in working with and modifying components, assembly, field testing, and demonstrations.
As a Junior Mechanical Engineer, you will assist in the design, development, and testing of mechanical systems and components and you will work closely with other engineers and cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and recommend engineering solutions. - Design and fabricate mechanical components based on understanding of material properties, manufacturing processes, machining and assembly fit tolerances as well as kinematic and stress analysis. - Support the development of prototypes and conduct testing to ensure functionality and performance. - Participate in all phases of development life cycle (requirements, design, fabrication, integration, evaluation, performance, and customer support). - Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications and reports. - Conduct research and analysis to determine the feasibility, design, operation, and performance of mechanical systems.
Other Duties: May be required to perform other duties as assigned by management, which are reasonably within the scope of the position.
Required Qualifications: - Ability to obtain Security Clearance may be required. - Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. -Proficiency in SolidWorks for creating 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed 2D mechanical drawings. - At least two or more years of experience in: Understanding of mechanical design principles and engineering practices. Experience in electronic components, functions, technologies, and assembly. Experience in mechanical design and fabrication, including electronic packing, machining, milling, injection molding, castings, fasteners, etc.
Work Environment: Work is performed in an office environment, setting at a desk in an office or meeting room.
Physical Requirements: - Work requires regular and long periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. - Operates standard office equipment and keyboard. - Occasionally carrying packages, laptop, and other small items- up to 25 pounds. - Walk short distances throughout the building. - May require the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for eye and ear protection.
Travel: Occasional travel may be required.
