Position Overview: As an Integration Engineer II, you will play a crucial role in designing, programming, and commissioning control systems for various projects. With a focus on delivering high-quality results, you will manage multiple projects simultaneously, communicate effectively with both internal teams and clients, and oversee the successful execution of technical tasks. CLX Engineers will work automating airport passenger boarding bridges, baggage handling systems, and theme park shows and events. This is a salaried exempt position reporting to the Manager, Controls Engineering. All candidates must be authorized to work in the US now and in the future. We are not sponsoring work visas. This is not an entry level position and candidates should have applied, working knowledge of PLC coding from scratch and designed electrical controls. This position requires a minimum 40% annual travel in the domestic United States. Candidates should expect to work in hot/cold, dirty manufacturing like environments and will often stand for hours or sit for hours depending on the project. Work shifts can vary from overnight to traditional business hours, again depending on the project. This is not a remote position and requires hands on skills and interaction. Key Responsibilities: Design control systems by interpreting customer specifications and analyzing system requirements. Use industry-standard drafting software, codes, and practices to develop functional software designs. Develop PLC programs, primarily using ladder logic, across multiple platforms. Follow company programming standards and customize when necessary. Manage project schedules, balance client needs and expectations, and troubleshoot to ensure seamless project delivery. Collaborate with cross-functional teams for optimal results. Begin supervising junior engineers, providing guidance and mentorship at customer sites, and assisting with troubleshooting and commissioning activities. Perform in-house testing of system software before client exposure. Ensure everything is working correctly before commissioning on-site. Provide on-site support and commissioning, ensuring that all systems function properly. Supervise installation progress and troubleshoot any issues. As a senior member of the team, communicate project status and requirements effectively. Work collaboratively with project management to ensure success. Travel between 40% - 85% annually Candidates must be able to pass a TSA level background check (this is more stringent that personal travel background check) Requirements: Required Qualifications: AS Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in automation , particularly with PLCs and on-site coding. Strong proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting automation systems and electrical troubleshooting, particularly in autonomous vehicle operation, baggage handling systems, and theme parks. In-depth knowledge of at least one major PLC platform (Allen-Bradley preferred, or Siemens, Modicon, Beckoff, or GE). Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external clients. Ability to work in industrial settings, with exposure to heat, dirt, and noise , lift 25-50 lbs. and navigate tight, dark, places. Able to climb different types of industrial ladders. Ability to use hand tools and work safely in diverse environments. Must be able to varied work shifts - over night, early morning to mid afternoon, etc. The work shift is determined by the client and project needs. A proactive mindset toward professional development and a commitment to improving processes. Desired Qualifications: BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Experience with AutoCAD software for system design, especially AutoCAD Electrical.
