Instructor, Small Engine Repair (Part-time)

Craven Community College is seeking part‑time faculty to teach Small Engine Repair classes in the Workforce Development Department. The instructor will provide vocational and technical instruction to adult learners, deliver curriculum, assess student progress, and prepare students for entry into the workforce.

Responsibility

• Provide vocational/technical instruction to adults in small engine/power equipment repair.
• Manage flexible working hours, including day, evening, and possibly weekend shifts.
• Monitor, motivate, and prepare students for entry into the workforce upon successful completion of the course.
• Develop vocational education curriculum and accurately keep records, submitting required documentation.
• Use Microsoft Office Outlook and PowerPoint for teaching materials and communication.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred: Small Engine Repair Certification).
• Ability to communicate clearly and instruct a diverse population on maintenance and repair of small engines used in a variety of power equipment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Outlook and PowerPoint.
