3rd Shift: 10:55pm - 7:10am

Monday - Friday

Weekend OT Available



Summary

The Injection Molding Process Engineer will develop and qualify the processes for new mold validations and existing process troubleshooting to achieve company goals for safety, production, quality, and cost.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Implement departmental goals for targeted shift in regards to OEE metrics, scrap reductions, cycle attainment, etc.
  • Establishing, controlling, and improving existing injection molding processes and its effective transfer through the 24 hour operation
  • Perform root cause analysis of production and quality problems and work to implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Perform daily duties with accuracy and in a timely manner. This includes, but is not limited to, mold changes, press startups, quality checks, material movement, etc.
  • Manage new mold and mold change sampling including all documentation. Validating process development efforts and interaction with part quality. Feedback to program engineering for follow-up as necessary.
  • Accurately and completely prepare all daily production-related documents in a timely manner
  • Observe all safety rules and policies at all times, including properly wearing PPE (personal protective equipment)
  • Provide continuous improvement and cost savings ideas
  • Work with technicians to ensure that processes are robust and are monitored per standard work.
  • Train employees on scientific molding techniques
  • Other duties as assigned in Managements sole discretion

Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities

  • RJG Master Molder 1 certified or relative scientific molding certification. Will consider work experience.
  • 5-10 years of large tonnage injection molding (500t-3200t)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing statistics including; SPC, design of experiments, and capability studies required.
  • TS16949, ISO 9001 or similar quality system experience.
  • Initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to work as a team player

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work overtime when required by management
  • Must have flexible working schedule to support molding operations
  • Must be able to lift to 45 pounds
