Genesis10 is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer with our client in the financial services industry. This is a hybrid contract-to-hire position requiring 3 days onsite per week in either Milwaukee, WI, or Louisville, KY.

Compensation

$70.00 - $75.00 per hour, W2, depending on skill and experience level.

Description

This role supports and evolves core infrastructure services spanning servers, virtualization, storage, identity, Microsoft 365, Azure, and end-user platforms.

The ideal candidate is a well-rounded infrastructure engineer who can troubleshoot across domains, support daily operations, contribute to design decisions, and partner with automation and platform teams.

You will work across infrastructure, cloud services, identity, and collaboration platforms, ensuring performance, stability, security, and scalability while handling advanced troubleshooting and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Infrastructure Support

• Maintain and support core infrastructure platforms, including:
  • Server hardware and Windows Server OS
  • VMware virtualization
  • Network storage and backup solutions
  • Monitoring and observability tools
  • Citrix and related infrastructure applications
• Administer and support Active Directory and Entra ID environments.
• Support Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams).
• Support Azure infrastructure and related cloud services (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS).

Operations & Service Management

• Perform advanced troubleshooting across infrastructure, cloud, and identity platforms.
• Open, update, and resolve Incidents, Service Requests, and Changes via ServiceNow.
• Respond to escalations and participate in a 24x7 on‑call rotation.
• Monitor system health, performance, and availability.

Design & Project Delivery

• Contribute to the design and implementation of enterprise infrastructure solutions.
• Lead or support complex Microsoft Teams and M365 initiatives.
• Collaborate with security and governance teams to ensure policy alignment.
• Develop technical documentation and mentor junior staff.

Cloud & Platform Engineering Alignment

• Support enterprise services across server, storage, VMware, M365, and Azure.
• Partner with automation teams as operational ownership shifts toward infrastructure engineering and lifecycle support.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• 8+ years of enterprise infrastructure experience across multiple domains (not a single specialty).
• Hands‑on experience with:
  • Windows Server administration
  • VMware
  • Enterprise storage and backup technologies
  • Active Directory / Entra ID
  • Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams)
  • Azure infrastructure
  • Citrix (administration or support)
• Strong cross‑platform troubleshooting skills.
• Experience supporting cloud SaaS, PaaS, and identity/security policy platforms.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools and operational best practices.
• Experience working within ITIL‑aligned service management processes.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent hands‑on experience.

Nice to Have (Not Required)

• PowerShell or other automation/scripting exposure.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Bicep, Terraform).
• Azure Automation, Azure Functions, or Microsoft Graph.
• Experience with SCOM, Azure Monitor, or KQL.
