Job Title: Senior Information Security Engineer Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid onsite a few days per week) Contract Duration: 1 Year Client: AMD Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Information Security Engineer to join AMDs Security Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing, administering, and supporting critical security technologies, including firewalls, proxies, load balancers, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA). This is a hands-on, technical role aimed at improving and maintaining the company's enterprise-wide security posture. You will play a key role in evaluating, configuring, and maintaining security infrastructure across hybrid and cloud environments, and youll serve as a security liaison across multiple teams and projects. Key Responsibilities: Administer and maintain enterprise security infrastructure, including WAFs, NGFWs, IDS/IPS, proxies, and ZTNA/SASE solutions Create and maintain highly available, user-friendly, and secure systems based on industry best practices Evaluate and recommend security enhancements to reduce digital risk Lead infrastructure integrations and projects from a security perspective Conduct vulnerability scans, OS hardening, and remediation tasks Monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents Collaborate with global operations and project teams to ensure consistent security practices Assist in architecting new secure products, features, and capabilities Maintain compliance with regulatory and security frameworks, including CIS Critical Security Controls Preferred Experience & Skills: Strong hands-on experience with enterprise firewalls and advanced networking technologies Deep understanding of TCP/IP, VPN, LAN/WAN, routing/switching, and internet protocols Experience with ZTNA, SASE, cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and web filtering Skilled in using and configuring IDS/IPS, reverse proxies, NAT, and MFA Familiarity with patch management, vulnerability assessments, and incident response Experience managing PKI/certificate infrastructure Ability to work independently and as part of a global, cross-functional team Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills Strong communication skills to influence security adoption across technical and business stakeholders Education & Certifications: Bachelors degree in Information Security, Information Technology, or a related field Professional security certifications such as CISSP, CEH, OSCP, or equivalent are highly desirable
