Overview The purpose of your role as an Industrial Engineer
This role is part of a team that plays a critical role in driving operational efficiency, standardization, and performance improvement. It merges industrial engineering principles with process engineering methodologies to improve productivity, reduce waste, improve workflows, and enable scalable industrialized construction practices.
This role supports continuous improvement efforts across the project lifecycle; from design/ coordination, fabrication, and modularization to installation while enabling technology adoption, process reliability, and data‑driven operational decision-making.
Facilitate structured mapping of current workflows across the project lifecycle
Leverage Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies to identify systemic gaps, inefficiencies, waste, and bottlenecks
Work with stakeholders to define future-state processes, workflows, and requirements
Build actionable implementation plans, including scope, timelines, KPIs, resource needs, and risks
Lead rollout and adoption of new workflows, SOPs, and processes across functions to ensure consistent and repeatable execution
Manufacturing Systems Optimization
Conduct time studies, capacity analysis, and workflow optimization for multiple fabrication facilities across the country, applying Lean and Six Sigma techniques to identify waste and streamline processes
Analyze labor, materials, throughput, and system performance to drive measurable operational improvements
Design or improve the physical layout of the fabrication facilities to reduce travel, improve safety, and maximize efficiency
Collaborate with stakeholders to conduct root cause analyses, reduce scrap and rework, and standardize processes in the fabrication facility
Documentation
Write and maintain: Workflows and processes, work instructions, SOPs, project artifacts, and training materials, to ensure consistency and scalability
Process Simulation and Digital Modeling
Use discrete‑event simulation and process‑modeling to model fabrication, logistics, and warehouse operations workflows
Run scenario analyses to assess capacity constraints, sequencing strategies, labor needs, and flow optimization
Present simulation findings to help teams make data‑driven decisions about process improvements and operational strategies
Develop Working Knowledge of Machinery, Software, and Integrated Systems
Learn and maintain a working understanding of the machinery, software platforms, and digital tools used across the project lifecycle, including how each system is configured and how they connect to downstream and upstream workflows
Use this working knowledge to identify process gaps, improve system handoffs, and ensure workflows are designed in alignment with real‑world tool behavior and operational capabilities
Serve as a “bridge” between operations and technology teams by ensuring processes account for both human and system factors
Continuing Education
Utilize a combination of seminars, trade shows, industry publications, certifications, etc. to maintain relevant knowledge of project management, process improvement, and change management methodologies and best practices
