Industrial Engineer

The Industrial Engineer is responsible for analyzing, designing, and improving production systems and processes to optimize efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure high-quality standards. This role collaborates closely with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, maintenance, and supply chain to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives at IFABCorp.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and improve production processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure safety.
- Develop and implement standardized work procedures, plant layouts, and time studies.
- Support Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead and participate in Kaizen events and process improvement projects.
- Monitor and report performance metrics (productivity, quality, scrap, downtime).
- Support new product introduction and process validation efforts.
- Collaborate with maintenance and tooling teams to ensure equipment reliability.
- Participate in line balancing, capacity analysis, and ergonomic assessments.
- Ensure proper documentation of processes and maintain accurate engineering records.
- Support compliance with ISO and IATF quality management systems.
- Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO and IATF.
- Strong skills in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other design/layout software.
- Experience with time and motion studies, work instructions, and standardization.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Knowledge of hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Welding, Assembly, Press Brake, Stamping, Laser Cutting, Coating (e.g., powder coating, wet paint), CNC Machining.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAGE, SAP, etc.).
- Green Belt or Black Belt certification in Six Sigma.
