Responsibilities Apply Lean Manufacturing methodologies to identify and eliminate waste in production processes. Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent and efficient operations. Develop and implement work instructions (WIs) to ensure consistent and efficient training programs are developed for new employees and current employees looking to expand their knowledge and responsibility. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and drive safety and continuous improvement initiatives. Design and optimize production layouts to maximize efficiency and minimize material handling. Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and measure the effectiveness of process improvements. Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Train employees in new processes, procedures, and specific work instruction. Work in unison with other team members to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees. Identify potential safety hazards and implement measures to mitigate risks. Provide support, training and accountability for EH&S and 6S standards. Stay up to date on the latest industry trends and technologies. May be required to perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Batchelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field. In lieu of a degree, extensive experience within this field will be considered. 5 - 8 years of experience in industrial engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Formal proven training in lean manufacturing principles and methodologies. Proven ability to independently write and implement effective standard operating procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), independently champion successful Kaizen events, 6S initiatives and Value Stream Mapping activities. Familiarity with quality control and assurance processes as well as EH&S standards. Individual experience conducting time studies and analyzing production data. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment but can demonstrate the ability to complete tasks and assignments independently when needed with little or no assistance or supervision. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is a plus but not required.
