13 hours ago Be among the first 25 applicants The candidate will be responsible for engineering material handling systems. Each system is custom-designed per client based on the optimal solution. This requires a team effort involving mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, controls, software, and project management. The team will develop and implement a design concept that meets the customer’s requirements for safety, functionality, reliability, throughput, and cost. Responsibilities Design and enhance conveyor systems and various automated and semi-automated material handling systems; may work on parts of larger projects or smaller projects in their entirety. Review product designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer specifications. Coordinate activities related to technical development, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and testing issues. Prepare and review approval, permit, and installation drawings using AutoCAD. Obtain quotes from vendors and issue purchase orders for materials and products. Monitor project schedules, engineering time, and material costs. Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure the engineered solutions and equipment fit within system constraints. Travel up to 20% to measure buildings, inventory equipment, commission systems, and interface with customers. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Resolve engineering issues by working with customers, vendors, and team members. Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience. At least 6 years of experience related to material handling systems. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks. Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project). Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Deep understanding of the material handling industry. Effective communication skills with internal and external stakeholders. Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities. Team-oriented and collaborative mindset. Self-motivated and detail-oriented. Willingness to learn new technologies.
