HVAC Project Engineer & HVAC Project Manager
Location: Fullerton, CA
Type: Full-Time | On-Site
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (rare overtime)
Compensation: Competitive base salary; performance-based incentives available

HVAC Project Engineer
Overview:
This role supports the full lifecycle of HVAC and refrigeration design-build projects for commercial and light industrial clients. Engineers work closely with field teams, CAD drafters, and leadership to deliver technically sound, code-compliant systems. The role is approximately 70% field and 30% office.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and size HVAC and refrigeration systems (boilers, chillers, ammonia systems, etc.)
Produce technical drawings and collaborate with field teams on execution
Select and specify equipment in coordination with senior engineering staff
Conduct job walks and gather field data for design validation
Ensure compliance with Title 24, OSHA 30, ASHRAE, and California building codes
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred
Minimum 5 years of HVAC experience (commercial/light industrial focus)
Proficient in AutoCAD; EnergyPro experience a plus
Strong knowledge of piping, blueprint reading, and permitting processes
EPA, NATE, or other trade certifications valued
OSHA 30 certification required (training provided if not held)

HVAC Project Manager
Overview:
This role leads HVAC construction projects from planning through completion, managing internal crews and ensuring safety, quality, and client satisfaction. Most projects are ground-up, with limited retrofit work. The service territory is primarily Southern California, with occasional travel to Dallas, Las Vegas, and the Bay Area.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee project delivery and execution
Manage internal crews (installers, pipe fitters, welders; team of ~12)
Track timelines, budgets, and quality standards
Interface with clients, contractors, and company leadership
Conduct job walks, safety tailgates, and hazard analyses
Ensure OSHA 30 and Title 24 compliance
Qualifications:
Field experience in HVAC or construction management
Proven leadership and crew coordination skills
Strong communication and organizational abilities
Familiarity with permitting and compliance processes
Engineering degree a plus but not required
OSHA 30 certification required (training provided if not held)
