Essential Functions
Lead various disciplines in the completion of technically complex structural repairs and refurbishment projects.
Responsible for design and implementation of improvement and modernization (I&M) projects.
Define clear goals for all aspects of a project and develop steps for their proper execution
Calculate the loads and stresses acting on ALTAIR Antenna and other structures on Kwajalein Atoll.
Prepare reports, designs and drawings.
Consider the strength of construction materials and select appropriately.
Provide technical advice on safe designs and construction.
Analyze configurations of the basic components of a structure.
Maintain the project schedule and budget.
Monitor and inspect all work undertaken to ensure structural soundness
Provide operations and maintenance support for radar hardware systems.
Apply advanced technical principles, techniques, theories and concepts that will help solve sometimes unusual complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
Advanced knowledge of construction methods, materials and legal regulations.
Sound understanding of physics and mathematics.
Ability to liaise with professionals from other disciplines.
Three-dimensional conceptual skills.
Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
Meticulous attention to detail with the superb organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communications skills are required including the ability to interface directly with external customers.
Proficient using Windows Office Suit and MS Project.
Required Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Structural or Civil Engineering.
Five or more years of related experience.
Experience in project management.
Experience with using Visio, AutoCAD, SolidWorks and MATLAB
Weapons test range systems O&M experience is desirable.
Professional Engineer license, preferred.
Certifications in Non-Destructive Testing methods such as Ultrasonic Testing, Die Penetrant, and Mag Particle are preferred.
Certifications in Corrosion Prevention and Control are preferred.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
Willingness and physical ability to work at heights up to feet.
Willingness and physical ability to carry equipment weighing 40 pounds unassisted.
Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. passport.
The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements.
