Graduate Engineer, Transportation Westwood Professional Services, Inc. Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Graduate Engineer to join our Public Infrastructure team. This position is open to all recent graduates and December 2025 and May 2026 graduates. Westwood is rated as a 2025 Best Firm to Work For! A Civil Graduate Engineer is expected to work on a team providing support to licensed Civil Engineers while learning the company’s standard practices and local agency codes. The Civil Graduate Engineer will spend time involved in public infrastructure projects doing technical calculations, plan and specification production, and assisting in project management tasks. In pursuit of a Professional Engineering license, the applicant needs to be organized, self-motivated, and possess the ability to solve complex issues on time and within budget collaboratively. Duties and Responsibilities
Assist project team in design of public infrastructure work Assist project team in preparation of construction drawings, technical specifications, and contract documents. Prepare engineering reports, feasibility studies, and utility evaluations Prepare various exhibits and design drawings using AutoCAD Civil3D, Bluebeam, and MicroStations Coordination with agency staff and internal support teams on designs, analysis, and issues Utilizing Microsoft Office Suite to develop calculations in Excel, reports and letters in Word, and presentations in PowerPoint Assist with construction drawings using AutoCAD Civil3D and/or MicroStations including grading plans; plan and profiles; construction details; etc. Required Skills
Outgoing, friendly, approachable (team player) Strong communication skills with team members and clients, demonstrates active listening techniques Proficient in computer software (Word, Excel, AutoCAD, Civil3D, MicroStations, Outlook, Microsoft Project)
Competent technical skills required to complete engineering tasks
Able to pro-actively pursue design solutions
Ability to be open to other's ideas and willing to compromise
Detail-oriented but also flexible enough to be big picture/conceptual

Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or the ability to obtain within 6-12 months Engineer-in-Training Certificate, or the ability to obtain within 6-12 months Basic knowledge of AutoCAD Civil3D software
