(FPE) Fire Protection Engineer - Practice Lead

Responsibilities for the Fire Protection Engineer (FPE) Include:
- Lead the development and review of fire protection design drawings and specifications
- Oversee the creation of technical reports, studies, and project proposals
- Supervise and mentor team members in alignment with company policies and industry standards
- Stay current on fire protection trends, technologies, materials, and best practices to enhance efficiency and innovation
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, owners, architects, and project stakeholders
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external engineering teams across disciplines
- Manage construction administration tasks, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and site inspections
- Perform additional duties as needed
Qualifications for the Fire Protection Engineer (FPE) Include:
- PE license required in at least one state where the firm operates (DC, MD, or VA)
- Minimum 5 years experience in fire protection engineering across diverse project types
- B.S. in Engineering (preferred)
- FPE license preferred, or willingness to obtain (preferred)
- Prior project management experience and professional registration in multiple states (preferred)
Compensation for the Fire Protection Engineer (FPE) Includes:
- Approximately $100,000-$150,000 annually, depending on licensure and relevant experience.
