Title: Fire Alarm System Design Engineer
Location: Onsite 5 days/week in Savage, MN
Type: Full Time/Direct Hire
Salary Range: $75-85K
We are hiring a Fire Alarm System Design Engineer who can do programming and system/scope design. You will need to be familiar with fire codes and have the ability to read building prints. PLT license is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities:
Evaluating building plans to design systems that meet local fire codes and UL city requirements. Prepare permitting paperwork and present to affected city for approvals. All fire systems need to be designed to meet city local codes, NFPA 70 & 72 Plan coordinate and program system panels and cell cards that follow operations install calendar. Build zone sheets based off programming schedules and prep install packages to be ready for installs.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of High School Diploma/Vocational training. Must have 2+ years of commercial field or 3 years of residential experience. Must have working knowledge of commercial intrusion, fire systems, CCTV, intercom, and access control systems. These platforms are a plus: DMP, Client (Vista), Silent Knight and or Digital Watchdog. Must have a MN PLT license and NICET II -or- willing to obtain NICET II within 6 months. Must have use of a Fluke or VOM meter. Able to use meter to read electrical circuits to diagnose faulty systems. Must have working knowledge of NEC code requirements. Must have a valid driver's license and clear a pre-employment drug screening.
