Job Description Summary The Turbine-Generator Controls Field Service Engineer (FSE) will participate as a Regional Service Team member responsible for providing the best service for our customers across the USA and Canada. The Lead FSE will manage all resources and logistics required to perform services and maintenance activities on customers' site/property. These activities contribute to, maintain, repair, and refurbish sold or existing products. Includes all types of maintenance service (preventive and remedial), manage maintenance facilities and field services engineering. The Lead FSE is responsible for project-specific operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. This role functions with some autonomy but is guided by established policies or review of end results. Roles and Responsibilities Support execution of retrofit projects including installation, power up, and commissioning of turbine control solutions, excitation control solutions, static starter control solutions, HMI upgrades, and TIL implementation. Support warranty administration and troubleshooting issues. Address customer service requests and lead customer issue resolution during warranty and post-warranty periods. Pre-plan, schedule, and execute site engineering, commissioning, control system startup, and project handover. Collaborate with project managers, customers, and suppliers to ensure quality, timeliness, and customer satisfaction. Respond to customer call-out service requests. Complete administrative tasks such as service time sheets, trip reports, invoicing, and meetings. Identify and register change order opportunities and review proposals for new opportunities, presenting GE solutions to customers. Interface with GE Power Services, GE Industrial, and other GE Businesses. Travel up to 70% and work overtime as required. Participate in FAT, develop controls strategies, design hardware/software configurations, and other duties as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial automation, Electronic Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience. Experience with turbine control, excitation control, static starter control solutions, HMI upgrades, TIL implementation. Minimum 3 years of field engineering in power generation, industrial automation, DCS, PLC, or related sectors. Industrial field service experience. Control system troubleshooting skills. Proficiency with MS Office, TCP/IP, and learning additional software tools. Eligibility & Characteristics Willing to travel up to 70%. Valid driver’s license and passport. Reside in the U.S. Mechanical/maintenance experience preferred. Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings, troubleshoot systems, work independently, and communicate effectively. Pay and Benefits Range: $78,800 - $131,200 USD annually, with potential performance bonus and geographic differentials.
