Pratt & Whitney is looking for a creative and driven controls engineer to join the Facility Control Systems (FCS) group. This role aims to improve jet engine test efficiency by developing robust test facility automations. The ideal candidate should have strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, along with excellent written and oral communication abilities. Flexibility is key as objectives can change in accordance with customer needs. You will design and maintain control system software for facility safety systems, engine resource delivery systems, and other unique applications.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working through all project stages from planning to validation to customer support.
  • Programming logic for custom-built systems used for specialized engine test objectives.
  • Collaborating with various support groups to ensure engine tests are executed safely and successfully.
  • Travel up to 10%.

Required qualifications include:

  • Bachelors degree in STEM.
  • Two years of engineering experience or an advanced degree in STEM with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Bachelors degree in electrical engineering with a focus on control systems.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLC hardware configuration and ladder logic programming.
  • Experience with Labview or similar graphical coding environments.
  • Experience with PID tuning skills.
  • HMI design experience.
  • Experience with electrical control circuit design and troubleshooting methods.
  • Experience with pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, and electric motors.

This role is an onsite position, essential to the development of our engines. Candidates will learn more about the role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. Commuting to and from the assigned site is the employees personal responsibility. This requisition is eligible for an employee referral award. The salary range for this role is $66,000 - $130,000 USD. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including the role, function, and associated responsibilities, a candidates work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the companys performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
