Position Summary:

The Enterprise Core Applications Engineer is responsible for the performance, operations, maintenance, security, and optimization of the Symitar core and associated systems. This position makes recommendations, designs and implements solutions, and partners with business stakeholders to achieve desired results and align our core systems with our strategic plan. The Enterprise Core Applications Engineer provides ongoing oversight and analysis of the credit unions technology as it relates to core processor and related business applications. Additionally, this position is responsible for reporting any security risks to the AVP IT, CISO, and CIO.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Integrates the credit union philosophy and operating principles and diligently promotes the credit union's mission statement into work habits, processes, and service delivery systems.
  • Acts as primary SME on core and core-related systems including but not limited to Symitar Episys, Digital Banking (Banno), Cutek Integrations, Synergy and Synapsys integrations, Xchange, symXchange, and SymConnect.
  • Manages the lifecycle of core and core-related systems including but not limited to Symitar Episys, Digital Banking (Banno), Cutek Integrations, SMA Opcon.
  • Manage the organizations yearly IRS tax processing
  • Administers Symitar Episys permissions, parameters, defaults, and modules, and serves as lead on projects and changes involving these areas.
  • Stays abreast of releases, patches, enhancements, and new products in the Jack Henry suite of products to ensure the credit union is deriving optimal value from the solutions.
  • Implements, maintains, and troubleshoots SMA OpCon automated workflows.
  • Looks for options for efficiency in the credit union environment and drives their implementation.
  • Works with business stakeholders to understand challenges and opportunities related to the core and core-related systems, and then works to drive changes to meet their needs.

  • Manages relationship with EASE outsourced processing, acts as primary SME for EASE operations, and ensures optimal performance in the EASE environment.
  • Manages releases, patches, and purges with EASE outsourced processing.
  • Manages the Jack Henry relationship, including acquiring pricing, project timelines, and escalating as needed.
  • Communicates and coordinates with other teams to complete implementations.
  • Performs Agile product manager duties, including writing user stories, building a back log, and prioritizing the back log.
  • Occasional travel as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge Of:

  • Windows 10 and later
  • Microsoft Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, IIS
  • Microsoft Office 365
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Basic knowledge of Dell hardware
  • Basic desktop and server class hardware
  • Working technical knowledge of Firewalls, Intrusion Detection, Networking technologies ( LAN / WAN ), Data Leakage Prevention, Network Access Controls, Security Incident and Event Management, Email Security.
  • Network services such as SMTP, SNMP, FTP, etc.
  • Networking fundamentals such as VLAN configuration and VLAN routing
  • Network routing protocols, and network design principles.
  • Corporate wireless networks
  • Administration of Symitar’s Episys core
  • Administration of Jack Henry suite of financial products
  • Opcon by SMA Technologies
  • FICS Mortgage Servicer

Ability To:

  • Troubleshoot software and hardware issues on Windows servers and workstations
  • Perform software and hardware installations and periodic upgrades
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation
  • Create Detailed System Lifecycle Management plans
  • Work evenings and weekends, as needed

Required Educations and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems/Computer Science or equivalent experience, plus five years of IT experience and seven years of core management experience.

License or Certificate:

  • Microsoft Certification preferred
  • Bondable
