This position provides Engineering/Design Authority support to the HMIS Engineering Organization.
Essential job duties of this position include:
* Approving work packages and other engineering documents as part of the HMIS engineering program. * Generating Facility Modification Packages and other engineering documentation. * Possessing basic knowledge of HVAC design. * Peer-reviewing other engineers' documentation. * Creating and modifying Preventive Maintenance procedures. * Creating preventive maintenance schedules. * Must be capable of writing clear and concise engineering documents which detail the activity, requirements and expectations for the service being provided.
Basic Qualifications * Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering plus 0-2 years' related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. * Good verbal and written communication skills. * Familiarity with applicable Local, State, and Federal Codes, Regulations and Standards for mechanical component installation and maintenance. * Familiarity with one or more of mechanical design; field modifications. * Understanding of the International Mechanical Code and International Plumbing code. * Ability to obtain and maintain a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Credential badge.
Desired Qualifications * Experience developing and/or implementing field modifications; * Training and/or experience working with the International Mechanical Code, International Plumbing code, and/or Washington administrative codes applicable to the work. * Experience with maintenance or repair of mechanical components, including troubleshooting and calculating the capacity/size of mechanical components. * Experience obtaining a consensus among diverse parties on implementing engineering solutions to problems. * Engineer In Training (EIT)
