Senior Nuclear Plant Engineer Digital Systems & Instrumentation (Remote)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Nuclear Plant Engineer to lead complex engineering efforts in the field of low-voltage instrumentation and digital system upgrades, including turbine control systems and radiation monitoring. This fully remote role requires advanced expertise in nuclear plant operations, engineering principles, and regulatory standards. The position functions independently with broad supervisory oversight, relying on sound judgment and technical proficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently execute highly complex engineering tasks in alignment with nuclear industry standards and regulations
  • Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and coordinate technical solutions for design and implementation challenges
  • Prepare, review, and validate engineering deliverables with minimal supervision
  • Develop and manage Engineering Changes (ECs) for plant systems and equipment
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers on complex projects
  • Maintain working-level expertise in plant design basis and engineering fundamentals
  • Collaborate with internal teams on safety-related and non-safety nuclear system projects

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering; Electrical Engineering is strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience (Design, Mechanical, Electrical), or at least 1 year at Engineer I level
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in digital systems, instrumentation, and control technologies
  • Ability to work independently in technically demanding environments without direct oversight
  • Strong communication, leadership, and project coordination skills
  • Proven ability to perform effectively in a remote work setting
  • Background in nuclear plant operations, with experience in distributed control systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Nuclear Design Engineering
  • Direct involvement in instrumentation modernization and digital system upgrades within regulated nuclear environments
