To be successful in this role you will:
New Technology: Work with Engineering and Operations to develop business cases for new technology and processes.Evaluate and test new technology, designs, and materials as needed.
Special Projects: Manages or supports special projects as needed.
Supply Chain:Manage relationships with external vendors to support of new and existing materials, including vendor-supplied training.Works with storeroom and procurement on inventory management to ensure correct stocking and ordering levels and materials meet specifications and quality requirements.
Field Support:Supports field operations with equipment and material inspections to ensure compliant and superior installations.Regularly visits field offices to consult with field crews on existing and new standards and materials.Manages material failure process that provides root cause analysis and resolution.
Supervision:Directs the efforts of contractors and interns/coops as needed to complete assignments.
Industry Groups:Attends and participates in industry committees on materials, standards, and codes.
Reporting:Summarize and present status of work on a regular basis.
Collaborate with Engineering and Operations on projects and maintenance projects.
Hold regular standards meetings with distribution, substation, and transmission teams.
Manage and publish standards documentation.
Manage and update engineering drawings.
Assist Operations with material compatibility requests on projects. Support field operations during site visits and look for process improvement efficiencies.
Communicate and work with materials subject matter experts for material failure analysis and evaluating new materials as needed.
Work with multiple departments and vendors to gather information to execute special projects and initiatives on time and within the allotted budget.
Demonstrate understanding of relevant internal and external codes and standards such as the National Electric Safety Code (NESC), National Electric Code (NEC), and internal standards.
Support storm restoration efforts as required.

Basic Qualifications:
Engineer II:
Education: Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Requires two years of utility design experience that includes analysis of electric data and application of technical standards.
Engineer III:
Education: Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
Experience: Requires five or more years of utility design that includes analysis of electric data and application of technical standards
Licensing: Must hold a valid Professional Engineering License in relevant field
Engineer IV:
Education: Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
Experience: Requires ten or more years of utility engineering or similar relevant experience,
Licensing: Must hold a valid Professional Engineering License in relevant field
