Electronics Engineer Lead

Performs complicated engineering work exercising independent judgment and action. Performs applied research, design, development, testing, and documentation of products or systems. Works closely with customers to understand equipment/system requirements and to ensure that the product(s) work in the application(s). Provides direction and mentors engineers and engineering technicians.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create and maintain simulation models for power supply including plasma load for system development
Responsible for the design, development, and release to manufacturing of switch mode power supply systems
Responsible to diagnose complex issues with design, field performance, reliability and test yields of products and recommend/implement corrective actions to address
Owns the success of the product/system in the end users’ applications
Works closely with customers, sales, product management procurement to drive innovation and efficiencies through the design and manufacturing process
Manages risk and compliance across area of accountability
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Standard office environment utilizing standard office equipment, a noisy fast-paced lab, and/or clean room 90% of the time
Must be able to travel 10% of the time. Travel involves international and domestic travel to remote sites, customers, and vendors
QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrated design ability of Switch Mode Power Supplies (SMPS)
Ability to exercise judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
Ability to utilize previous experience in engineering practices/procedures, industry/customer practices in all work
Ability to determine methods and procedures on new assignments and provide guidance to other personnel
Ability to solve complex technical problems independently
Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
Good verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills
Fluent verbal and written communication in English. C2 proficiency desired
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 8 years of experience in engineering and product development
EDUCATION:
BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering or similar
MS in Electrical/Computer Engineering with a Power Electronics concentration desired
COMPENSATION:
As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $120,000 to $160,000 per year.
