Electrical Test Engineer III
Collins Aerospace is seeking an Electrical Test Engineer III to join our team onsite in Fairfield, CA! In this role, you'll have the opportunity to support Destructive and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) on advanced energetic devices, ensuring our products meet and exceed stringent customer performance requirements.
A key part of your responsibility will be troubleshooting and resolving work stoppages, implementing permanent and timely solutions to keep testing on schedule. You'll ensure the safe and reliable operation of test equipment and fixtures, maintaining high standards of safety and performance in a fast-paced environment.
What You Will Do
- Analyze engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications to define testing strategies and testing requirements.
- Lead the Design, Development, and Validation of custom Test Fixtures to support performance testing aligned with manufacturing specifications.
- Implement and Verify Test Data Acquisition programs and Automate Post Processing Analysis.
- Design, Develop, and Validate Electrical Schematics and hardware bring-up.
- Refine Test Setup Procedures and Test Performance Evaluation to uphold Collin's Aerospace high quality standards and evolving production needs.
- On-site technical debugging and root-cause analysis with flexibility to support internal teams.
- Perform Post Process Data Analysis and Write Test Performance Reports.
- Manage key initiatives, coordinating cross-functional efforts driving outcomes Plan and execution tasks using project management tools.
- Train technicians on testing procedures and equipment operation.
- Work with Stakeholders to identify technical requirements and coordinate procurement to maintain instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
- Support failure investigations and developmental testing.
- Willingness to travel to external test sites as needed (up to 5%)
- All other duties as required.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) access.
Qualifications We Prefer
- A BS or MS degree in electrical, mechatronic, or mechanical engineering or related discipline.
- Experience working with data acquisition systems.
- 3-5 years experience of developing test processes.
- Energetic Destructive Testing Experience.
- Experience working with Matlab or other data analysis tools.
- 5 years experience with ordnance products and/or test instrumentation/electronics. PLC programming, Python Programming.

The salary range for this role is 90,000 USD - 182,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
