Job Title: Electrical & Software Integration Engineer Duration: Full-time Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Technical Application Engineer to join our team in developing advanced electrical and control systems for custom-built vehicles. This role involves designing, integrating, and programming vehicle systems while collaborating with engineering, drafting, production, and customer service teams. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience, strong communication skills, and a proactive problem-solving mindset. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement electrical systems and user interface controls for custom vehicle applications. Integrate vehicle control systems with chassis components using communication protocols such as J1939 CAN-Bus . Design wire harnesses, select components, and program PLCs and other controllers as needed. Develop embedded software to capture, compile, and transmit vehicle/system data to remote servers. Research and evaluate emerging technologies to improve vehicle functionality, efficiency, and innovation. Collaborate with drafters and engineers to review, revise, and approve technical drawings and documentation. Manage project timelines, ensuring key deliverables are on schedule and effectively communicated across the team. Engage directly with customers to define project goals, requirements, and scope of work. Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines and maintain progress. Support the Customer Service team with technical assistance and troubleshooting. Assist the Production Floor with system installation, diagnostics, and hands-on support as needed. Qualifications: Required: Hands-on experience with CAN-Bus and serial communication protocols . Proficiency in programming languages and platforms such as PLC, C++, and Linux . Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail. Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills. Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Preferred: Mechanical experience or background working with custom vehicles or machinery. Experience in automotive, heavy equipment, or related industries is a plus. A reasonable, good-faith estimate of the minimum and maximum for this position is $140K/year to $150K/year with benefits.
