Summary
The Power Engineer is responsible for the reliability and sustainability of new and existing equipment. They lead process and product improvement efforts as a technical resource to the operations team, supporting manufacturing and maintenance through the MDI process and continuous improvement initiatives. They troubleshoot technical problems and act as project managers for expense and CAPX projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Scope all capital projects for power feed to ensure capability, and quote new if needed. Lead the Arc Flash study of the Leetsdale plant. Lead PMs for electrical feed (MCCs, Substations, Transformers, etc.). Assist with electrical maintenance troubleshooting, rotating on-call during off hours with others. Manage a variety of capital and non-capital projects as the Project Manager or Project Lead, utilizing fundamentals of project management including scope, specification, design review, budget, and WBS/Schedule governed by change management. Knowledge of the FEL process is a plus. Effectively communicate project expectations to team members in a clear and timely manner; delegate as needed. Schedule contractors and manage day-to-day activities to complete projects on time. Improve equipment reliability and operation through analysis of data and experimental evaluation. Implement appropriate plans to improve profitability by maximizing efficiency, including waste, speed, delay, and raw material usage using Lean Manufacturing principles. Manage the coordination, implementation, and standardization of manufacturing process improvement and tooling. Perform work measurement studies, including time studies, process capability studies, and uptime studies to meet pre-determined goals prior to formal handoff of the project to manufacturing. Be directly involved with continuous improvement teams, which may include being a facilitator of a team or group of teams. Incorporate safety into all aspects of the department and ensure safe working conditions during all activities associated within the manufacturing environment. Conduct procurement activities, including obtaining bids, evaluating bids, and making purchase recommendations. Design countermeasures and engineering trials, verifying the effectiveness of corrective actions. Supervisory Responsibilities

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. 4-year degree, engineering preferred. Minimum 7-10 years' experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience in leading various types of projects, major equipment outages, and installation of new equipment and processes directing internal and/or external resources. Able to facilitate and complete root cause analysis (8-D, 5 why) and implement countermeasures to prevent re-occurrence. Strong computer skills, AutoCAD, proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access. Must be detail-oriented with strong communication and analytical skills.
