Responsibilities
- Collaborate within a cross-functional engineering team to innovate next-generation optical transceiver products.
- Design, develop, and characterize electrical and control systems for high-speed transmit/receive optical assemblies (TROSA).
- Conduct design verification tests to ensure optimal performance of optical devices and modules.
- Model high-frequency signal coupling and EMI noise susceptibility, providing solutions to enhance signal integrity.
- Act as the primary engineering liaison with PIC, ASIC, and firmware designers for seamless module integration.
- Utilize testing equipment such as OSA, network analyzers, and oscilloscopes for device characterization and troubleshooting.
- Automate lab processes and data collection using programming languages such as MATLAB and Python.
- Communicate findings and project progress effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
You have:
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related discipline
- Strong understanding of opto -electronic devices and high-speed optical technology
- Experience with high-speed coherent optical device characterization and troubleshooting
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or VB.net for automation of instrument control
It would be nice if you also had:
- Experience with microprocessors and real-time controls
- Familiarity with EMI noise susceptibility evaluation methodologies
- Hands-on experience in performing automated testing of opto-electronic devices
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration across technical teams
