Job Description: Electrical Integration & Test Engineer (Starshield) This role is crucial for ensuring the success of SpaceX’s satellite missions. The Electrical Integration & Test team is responsible for integrating and testing all systems on the satellite, guaranteeing they perform flawlessly in space. Responsibilities: Manage Integration and Testing: Oversee the build flow and test operations for SpaceX satellites. Evaluate Designs: Analyze proposed designs for manufacturability and integration, considering all aspects of the satellite. Collaboration: Work closely with engineers and technicians to optimize manufacturing processes and automation. Develop Procedures: Create and refine assembly procedures based on lessons learned during integration and testing. Problem Solving: Identify and analyze non-conformances, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions to improve system performance. Essential Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or physics. 1+ years of design and/or hands-on manufacturing experience (internships, collegiate engineering projects, or professional experience). Preferred Skills and Experience: Security Clearance: Ability and willingness to obtain a Top Secret clearance. Master’s Degree: Master’s degree in an engineering discipline. Programming Skills: Experience with MATLAB, Python, or other programming languages. Systems Integration: Experience integrating propulsion, thermal, electrical, and/or structural systems. Avionics Systems: Expertise in integrating avionics systems. Documentation & Configuration Management: Experience with documentation and configuration management. Testing Experience: Experience writing test plans and procedures, providing go/no-go judgments with supporting rationale. Production Environment: Experience working in a production environment. Critical Thinking & Problem Solving: Demonstrated engineering intuition, critical thinking, and comfort working with ambiguous requirements. Additional Requirements: Travel: Some travel to other SpaceX sites may be required (up to 10%). Extended Hours: Willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed to meet mission-critical deadlines. Physical Requirements: This position is highly hands-on and requires extended periods on your feet (up to 4 hours at a time). Ability to climb ladders, stoop, bend, crawl, and work in tight spaces is necessary. Security Clearance: An active clearance may be required, including pre-employment drug testing and random drug and alcohol testing. Pay Range: Level I: $100,000.00 – $120,000.00/year Level II: $115,000.00 – $135,000.00/year Clearance Differential: Active clearance holders receive a 10% differential (up to $15,000 annually).
