Description: The candidate will support the electrical design and test of Rate and Rate Integrating Gyroscopes. This will include the design of electrical gyroscope components such as motors, pickoffs and torquers, as well as custom built test fixtures and test harnesses. In addition, the candidate will assist in the design of tests and provide analytical support for testing Rate and Rate Integrating Gyroscopes, including Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP), scale factor, transfer function, drift, alignment, and 1st and 2nd order system stability characteristics (gain/phase analysis), etc. EDUCATION: Minimum 4-year degree in electrical or electronics engineering, or other technical degree with appropriate work history or background. EXPERIENCE: 5+ years dealing with four or more of the following: Electronic product or component design and/or analysis Basic understanding of 1st or 2nd order control systems (servo systems, spring/mass/damper) Electronics systems (amplifiers, power supplies, demodulators, signal conditioning, filters) Electromechanical, mechanical, or electromagnetic systems Engineered (specialized) products to customer/government specifications Custom (product specific) Test systems Environmental testing (temperature, shock, vibration as a minimum) Hands-on design, test, and troubleshooting experience required SKILLS: Required skill set shall include as a minimum: Can interpret, digest, and produce technical specifications and procedures Computer literacy Excellent communications, presentation, and written skills, including customer facing Analytical (math) modeling capability, 1st and 2nd order systems Electrical test equipment operation skills, e.g.; DVM, oscilloscope, signal generator PC Board design Analog circuit design and component selection Servo (control system) analysis, and system design (1st and 2nd order systems), gain/phase analysis Additional skills desirable: Advanced test equipment operation skills, e.g.; spectrum analyzer, distortion meter, EMI analysis equipment Microcontroller/microprocessor based digital and/or mixed signal circuit and system design Magnetic circuit analysis and design capability Basic mechanical instruments skills, e.g.; micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, precision levels An outstanding self-starter with a can-do attitude willing to go above and beyond the normal Requirements:
