Position Summary
The Electrical Engineer II plays a critical role in the design, development, and validation of embedded systems and high-performance LED circuitry for RIGIDs innovative lighting products. This role is responsible for embedded hardware architecture, firmware development in C, and PCB layout with an emphasis on thermal and electrical efficiency. The position requires cross-functional collaboration, hands-on prototyping, and problem-solving throughout the product development lifecyclefrom concept to production.
Essential Skills and Functions
Design and develop embedded hardware systems, including microcontroller selection and integration.
Write and optimize firmware in embedded C to interface with hardware components.
Select and implement high-performance LEDs and associated drive circuitry.
Design PCB layouts for thermal efficiency, manufacturability, and EMI/EMC compliance.
Conduct lab-based validation, testing, and troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other diagnostic tools.
Collaborate with mechanical, optical, and manufacturing engineering teams during new product development (NPD).
Support design documentation, design reviews, and transfer to production.
Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned according to business needs.
Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (required).
Minimum 3 years of experience in embedded hardware design and microcontroller-based systems.
Proficient in C programming for embedded systems.
Experience with PCB design, LED integration, and thermal/electrical optimization.
Experience using lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.).
Preferred: Experience with PIC microcontrollers and circuit simulation tools.
Strong foundation in new product development processes and design for manufacturability.
Technical experience in a manufacturing or R&D environment (preferred).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Office environment 100% onsite (must be located in Phx-metro, AZ)
8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday (some nights and weekends may be required)
Fast paced environment with occasional interruptions.
Regularly required to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operator computer keyboard / perform assembly techniques
Bending at the waist, kneeling or crouching
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, rarely lift and/or move up to 35 pounds
