We are seeking an Electrical Distribution Engineering Manager who is responsible for designing and engineering power distribution projects in both aerial and buried environments. They will support the Joint Use team by performing aerial make-ready engineering and ensuring that all codes, standards, and permit requirements are met. The role includes creating construction plan sets and job packets, tracking project progress, maintaining adherence to timelines, and following defined scopes of work. Additionally, the engineer will support CCI’s Sales team by engaging with current and prospective clients in the power industry, offering technical insights and contributing to business development efforts.
Responsibilities
Oversee projects from initiation through completion, serving as the primary technical liaison between clients and internal teams to ensure alignment and successful delivery.
Obtain available data for plan sets and permits. Read and understand all project requirements as stated in contractual documents and Scopes of Work.
Finalize and review all project tracking paperwork, progress reports, and invoices as required.
Build strong relationships with current and potential customers.
Remain current in all new and existing technologies including software and equipment upgrades and maintenance.
Meet and/or exceed customer expectations by understanding demand for personnel to meet client driven timelines.
Collaborate with the Sales team to engage with current and prospective clients, serving as a subject matter expert in the power industry to provide technical guidance and support business development efforts.
Partner with the Program Manager of Joint Use to define, formalize, and document departmental roles and responsibilities, ensuring clarity of function across teams. Provide consistent operational support and contribute to process improvements through ongoing collaboration and strategic planning.
Collaborate with the Safety Department to coordinate the development and execution of safety protocols, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and fostering a culture of safety across departmental operations.
Ensure confidentiality of company information.
Creates and promotes the company image through exercising sound and ethical business practices as related to employees, the public and customers. This includes ensuring that the service and quality provided to customers is satisfactory.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
4 years of experience in the Electric Distribution Engineering field.
2-year technical certificate in Electrical Distribution or a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
Experience and educational background in design, operation, construction, and maintenance of electrical distribution lines (4 kV through 35 kV) is required.
Familiarity with the design and operation of utility electrical systems and the ability to develop plan sets in both overhead and underground environments is required.
Technical Experience in the Electric and Power Industry is required.
Experience with utility engineering, Communications, Power Distribution, and Gas is preferred.
Experience in bidding and providing cost estimates for RFP responses is preferred.
Experience in the Utility industry, permit completion and coordination is preferred.
A proven understanding of electrical utility standards and the National Electric Safety Code.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining accountability to processes, quality standards, and timelines.
Demonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD, GIS, and Microsoft Office tools.
Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to work well and efficiently with a wide variety of people.

The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
The ability to meet strict deadlines.
Shift is full-time Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm CST. Must be flexible and willing to work outside normal business hours as necessary.
Additional Information
This role involves overnight travel up to 30% of the time.
Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
