Job Description

Automation systems company in the Atlanta metro area needs an Electrical Controls Engineer. This job is in a west/southwest suburb of Atlanta.

Using your knowledge of EPLAN (preferred but not required), you will work on the with cross-functional teams to develop control system architectures for material handling equipment and robotic applications.
Collaborate closely with suppliers to ensure the manufacturing of electrical cabinets adheres to NEC (NFPA70), UL508/UL508A, and other applicable industry standards.
Generate documentation for subsystems including the electrical cabinets.
Design and program Safety PLCs, HMIs, and/or motion control systems.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelors' degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar.
Five years of experience in robotics, industrial automation, or electrical controls engineering.
Experience with industrial electrical design and PLC programming with Allen-Bradley, Rockwell, or Siemens controls.
Proficiency with industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, TCP/IP, MODBUS, IO-Link
Knowledge about conveyor systems, sensors, tooling
Position requires some travel to domestic customer sites about 20-30%.
