As the leading, privately held U.S. manufacturer of innovative high-performance flexible circuit boards, we are dedicated to the design, production, and assembly of advanced printed circuit board assembly (PCBAs) technology solutions. We develop cutting-edge solutions that explore new frontiers, serve and protect our armed forces and allies, safeguard national security against evolving threats, and propel advancements in hypersonic technology. Our customers include some of the largest aerospace and defense companies like RTX, Lockheed Martin, GE Aerospace, NASA, JPL, Northrop Grumman, and Boeing. About the Opportunity We are seeking a Digital Manufacturing Engineer with a strong focus on Industry 4.0 system architecture and integration to join our technology and innovation team. This role is ideal for a technically curious engineer passionate about modernizing manufacturing operations through real-time data acquisition, smart automation, and intelligent digital platforms. You will play a lead role in building out our SCADA/MES infrastructure while exploring and implementing emerging technologies such as edge computing, cloud-based historians, AI/ML-enabled analytics, and digital twins. What You'll Do Platform Development Design, configure, and deploy platforms, like SCADA, to enable real-time visibility, traceability, and operational control. Select and integrate best-in-class tools (e.g., Ignition, Aveva, Siemens, Kepware) that support modular, scalable architectures. Interface with PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and data historians across production lines. Digital Infrastructure & Data Flow Build end-to-end data pipelines from OT to IT systems, supporting secure edge-to-cloud architectures. Connect MES/SCADA systems with ERP, quality systems, and production dashboards. Implement standardized APIs, OPC UA, MQTT, and secure protocols for industrial connectivity. Emerging Tech & Innovation Pilot AI/ML tools for predictive maintenance, process optimization, and anomaly detection. Contribute to the development of digital twins and simulation models for process improvement. Stay ahead of trends in IIoT, 5G/6G factory networks, blockchain for traceability, and AR-based work instructions. Continuous Improvement & Collaboration Lead projects to automate workflows, improve operator experience, and reduce data latency. Work closely with cross-functional teams—controls, IT, quality, operations—to implement solutions with measurable ROI. Develop SOPs, training materials, and technical documentation to support adoption and sustainability. What You'll Bring Bachelor's or Master's in Mechatronics, Electrical, Controls, Manufacturing, or Computer Engineering. Experience in designing, deploying, or maintaining SCADA type systems in an industrial environment desirable. Familiarity with PLCs (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), industrial protocols (OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT), and HMI platforms. Proficiency in scripting or programming (Python, SQL, JavaScript, or equivalent). Understanding of manufacturing workflows, shop floor systems, and IT/OT integration challenges. Preferred Qualifications Experience with platforms like Ignition, Aveva System Platform, Rockwell FT, Siemens WinCC, or similar. Knowledge of industrial cloud platforms (Azure IoT, AWS Greengrass, GE Predix, or similar). Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), or infrastructure-as-code (Terraform). Familiarity with ISA-95 architecture, NIST 800-171/CMMC compliance, or cybersecurity frameworks for industrial environments. California Pay Range $105,000—$125,000 USD The actual compensation offered is based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and other relevant business considerations.
