Insight Global is looking for a Devops Engineer - Data Platforms to join a Dallas based client in an onsite permanent opportunity. This role owns PostgreSQL as a platform-not a traditional DBA or standard DevOps role. It blends DevOps principles with deep PostgreSQL expertise to enable safe, automated database change in support of application development.

Responsibilities:

-Own and operate PostgreSQL / AWS Aurora across all environments

-Enable CI/CD-driven database changes (migrations, rollbacks, validations) using tools like Liquibase

-Partner with developers to support feature-driven schema design and database changes

-Automate database operations and ensure reliability, performance, and scalability

-Lead low/zero-downtime schema evolution and change propagation

-Design backup, recovery, and security practices in AWS

Skills and Requirements

-5+ years of experience building and operating PostgreSQL-based data platforms in production

-Strong hands-on experience with AWS Aurora PostgreSQL

-Deep expertise in PostgreSQL internals, performance tuning, and indexing strategies

-Proven experience executing live schema changes and migrations with minimal or zero downtime

-Experience operating in DevOps and platform engineering environments, not siloed database teams

-Strong understanding of automation, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code principles

-Ability to troubleshoot complex data and performance issues under production pressure

-Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence architecture and platform decisions across teams -Experience supporting high-growth, high-traffic systems

-Familiarity with data security, auditing, and compliance best practices

-A platform mindset - enabling teams rather than becoming a bottleneck

-Passion for mentoring engineers on data modeling, performance, and safe change patterns
