Job Description:

Seeking a talented DevOps Engineer to help bridge the gap between software development, operations, and security. This role plays a crucial part in designing, planning, testing, and maintaining modern infrastructure and deployment pipelines, while ensuring governance, compliance, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

Break down barriers between software development, testing, and operations to support smooth, automated deployments.

Implement project management best practices and workflows using tools such as JIRA, GitHub, and AWS DevOps.

Assist developers with troubleshooting applications, migrations, conversions, deployments, and publications.

Enforce governance and security best practices, adhering to defined security standards and policies.

Evaluate system and application logs, document procedures, and transfer knowledge to team members.

Collaborate with developers, system administrators, cloud architects, and other DevOps personnel to deploy and manage applications with consistent, repeatable processes.

Provision cloud resources and maintain healthy, reliable application infrastructure.

Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts to automate resource provisioning and CI/CD pipelines.

Work with cross-functional teams to understand workflows, system requirements, and to identify optimal solutions.

Monitor and maintain application environments, identifying opportunities for improvement and cost optimization.

Support billing accuracy and collaborate with development managers for reliable cost estimates.

Ensure environments comply with all relevant governance, security, and regulatory policies.

Participate in project planning meetings, offering expertise on system options, risks, and trade-offs.

Develop, build, test, and maintain reusable scripts and components for cloud solutions.

Support disaster recovery planning, replication strategies, and work closely with database administrators as needed.

Maintain and update system documentation, processes, and knowledge bases to aid training and team continuity.

Participate in all stages of application testing and help develop requirements and procedures for routine maintenance.

Follow defined change management processes.

Required Skills:

Scripting: Strong experience building and maintaining Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bash, CloudFormation, or Python.

Databases: Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases.

Technical Knowledge: Understanding of APIs, key management systems, cloud services and features, networking, and firewalls.

Certifications: Associate-level cloud certification (or willingness to earn certification within one year of starting).

Development Practices: Solid understanding of various development methodologies and best practices.

Collaboration: Excellent communication, teamwork, and knowledge-sharing skills.

Leadership: Ability to mentor others, build strong team relationships, and demonstrate professionalism and adaptability.
