Design Systems Engineer - Transmission and Driveline

The Design Systems Engineer acts as the primary interface between the Chief Engineer group and Product Release Center. and will be primarily responsible for managing System, interfaces and interactions between components / subsystems of the gear reducer and driveline system and will be responsible for the following:
Transmission, EDM Gear Reducer and/or Driveline hardware system responsible (integration and system balancing of all gear reducer and driveline components) Interfacing with individual COEs
Manufacturing
Suppliers
Development Validation Center
Schedules hardware system design reviews across PRC and reviews DRE design proposals as required
Organize reviews with Virtual Analysis / CAE team and ensures Virtual DVP / Scorecard is completed prior to any prototype hardware orders
Manage Transmission and/or Driveline System and Interface DFMEA / DRBFM (team) reviews to ensure complete transparency and development of cohesive Design Controls leading to Robust DVP Actions
Manages Assembly (BOM) Part# Complexity Charts including all Transmission, Gear Reducer and/or Driveline Systems with a clear definition of each assembly part#
Manage BRT (Build Readiness Team) for prototype orders; Confirms proto hardware orders and procurement to meet program build(s) milestones
Coordinate BOM and experimental builds with Assistant Chief Engineer
Leads and manages build readiness tasks (build fixtures, test fixtures, dyno support)
Supports Chief Engineer & Assistant Chief Engineer to develop manpower needs and ER&D/ED&D Cost Roll-ups for Minor/Mid-Cycle Actions/New Programs
Review and approve all change notices ensuring checklists, Lessons Learned, and Engineering Best Practices are updated and aligned
Leads Technical Cost Reductions (TCRs) / Value Optimization (VO) effort and alignment working closely with Product Release Center, Design Validation Center and Value Optimization teams
Represents Chief Engineer in managing the “lessons learned” document for the program and ensure that TS (Technical Specialist) receive those updates on a timely manner to update the E-BPs accordingly
Reviews Transmission and/or driveline system and applicable component “Validation Completion” status with DVC team periodically & provides update to Chief Engineer
Coordinates DRBTR review and keeper of “follow up items” and decision maker on issuing GIMS for buds of problems
Manage Quality Initiative and GIMS cross functional task force teams working closely with ACE, create priorities, action plans and track progress, align and update initiatives list
Elevate resource issues as needed
Work on special projects as needed
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree field
5 years of relevant experience
5 or more yrs Experience in Automotive Engineering and/or Geared Systems
Preferred Qualifications:
MSME or equivalent engineering degree
10+ years of experience in Transmission and/or Driveline Engineering
Knowledge of Stellantis engineering systems
