Design Engineer (Electrical)

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an ABET EAC accredited program at a four-year college or university with major coursework in the field of Electrical Engineering. Proof of degree required (transcript or diploma).
- Working knowledge of CAD/drafting tools and software.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and the ability to learn technical software for VFD's, PLC's, HMI's, and motion controllers.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the organization.
- Attention to detail, good organizational skills, and a willingness to work extra hours as needed.
- Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license.
- Ability to learn technical and manufacturing processes, environmental procedures, and use of measuring instruments.
- Must be physically able to perform essential job duties with or without accommodations.
Ideal Candidate:
- Current State of Alabama Professional Engineering License or EIT Certification (if a recent graduate).
- Three or more years of experience in design engineering, environmental compliance, or project coordination.
- Familiarity with AMERICAN's manufacturing processes and products, or similar.
- Experience coordinating engineering projects from design to startup.
- Ability to train and support internal teams on technical processes and equipment use.
- Proactive in pursuing personal development, continuous improvement, and safety compliance.
