Job Description:
The Data Warehouse Engineer plays a critical role in establishing and maintaining a scalable, secure, and well-governed data platform. This position is responsible for integrating data from multiple systems into a central warehouse, designing semantic models that support business intelligence, and ensuring the reliability and performance of data pipelines. By enforcing data governance and security standards, the role ensures that executives, analysts and operational teams have consistent, trustworthy data to drive strategic decision-making, operational excellence and compliance with regulatory requirements.
This position reports to System and IT Corporate Manager.

Provide a robust data foundation that enables data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role supports digital transformation by delivering high-quality, integrated data for analytics, reporting and AI initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Design, build and maintain the enterprise data warehouse and data lake, aligning with enterprise architecture standards and cloud strategy.
Develop and optimize star-schema and dimensional models to support Power?BI and other BI tools, ensuring conformed dimensions and consistent metrics.
Design, implement, and monitor ETL/ELT processes using cloud services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Databricks, AWS Glue) to ingest data from ERP, CRM, WMS and other operational sources.
Ensure data lineage, version control and automation through CI/CD practices, document transformations for transparency and reproducibility.
Write and tune complex SQL queries and DAX measures; optimize data models and partitions for performance and cost efficiency.
Collaborate with BI developers to build Power?BI semantic models that are intuitive for business users and adhere to best practices.
Implement data governance policies and standards (DAMA DMBoK, COBIT) and ensure adherence to data quality, privacy and security requirements.
Work with security teams to enforce role-based access control (RBAC), row-level security, and encryption for data in motion and at rest.
Partners with data architects, database administrators, BI analysts, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and prioritize enhancements.
Provide technical guidance on data modeling, integration patterns and warehouse best practices across the organization.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems or related field.
36 years of experience in data warehouse engineering, data integration or data platform development.
Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with cloud data warehousing solutions (e.g., Azure Synapse, Snowflake, Amazon Redshift) and ETL/ELT tools.
Proficiency in dimensional modeling, data normalization, and schema design; familiarity with Power?BI semantic models and DAX.
Knowledge of data governance frameworks and compliance requirements (GDPR, HIPAA, SOX).
Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD for data pipelines; scripting skills (Python or similar) are a plus.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Enterprise applications: Experience with core transactional systems, Sage X3 is preferred.
Data platform tools: Hands-on knowledge of cloud data platforms like Azure Synapse Analytics, Snowflake or Amazon Redshift, and ETL/ELT services like Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue or Talend.
Databases: Proficiency with SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL, including performance tuning and indexing.
Business intelligence: Strong experience with Power?BI, including DAX, tabular models and deployment via Power?BI Service; familiarity with SSAS or other semantic modeling tools like SEI is a plus.
Data governance: Exposure to data cataloguing and governance tools such as Microsoft Purview, Collibra or Alation.
