Client Data Engineering sits at the intersection of data management and business enablement within Goldman Sachs' Data Engineering group. We architect, develop, and maintain enterprise solutions for client data management, ensuring the highest standards of data quality, consistency, and accessibility across the firm.

Your Impact
Client Data Engineering is seeking an exceptional Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in data management systems, a passion for architectural design, and the ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions. You will play a pivotal role in advancing our client data strategy, driving technology transformation initiatives, and developing enterprise applications that enable data-driven decision making across the organization.
How You Will Fulfill Your Potential
Architect and implement enterprise-grade solutions for client data management, focusing on data integrity, integration, and distribution capabilities
Drive technology modernization efforts by helping transition legacy systems to our next-generation data solution
Develop sophisticated ETL processes to integrate, transform, and distribute mission-critical client information across business units
Partner with business stakeholders to translate domain-specific requirements into robust data models and controls
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within our agile delivery framework
Relevant Technologies : Java, Rest, GraphQL, SQL
Basic Qualifications
A bachelor's or master's degree in a computational field (Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or in a related quantitative discipline)
3+ years of professional software development experience in enterprise environments
Proficiency in object-oriented programming with demonstrated expertise in Java
Strong database skills with experience in enterprise-grade ORM interactions
Experience with data modeling methodologies and ETL pipeline development
Familiarity with RESTful service design and implementation patterns
Demonstrated success working within Agile delivery frameworks
Understanding of enterprise data management principles and practices
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities
Proactive self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Commitment to delivering high-quality, maintainable code
Preferred Qualifications
Financial Services industry experience, particularly in client data domains
Hands-on experience with the Legend/Pure data modeling ecosystem
Experience with cloud-native application development and deployment
